Or “what you can expect to find here.” At its core, this site is essentially a collection of things that I think might be either useful or interesting to somebody. And, over its lifespan to this point, it has apparently been of at least some use to at least a few people (or so I’ve been led to believe). Interesting, I’m not so sure. But at least marginally useful. Anyway, beyond that, there’s not really any guiding principle or goal to this site.
Of course, it’s also a reflection of me in a sense, albeit a distorted and convoluted one. Like one you might see in a fun-house mirror. And, since it is a sort of representation of me, there are basically useless things (a photo gallery, for instance) that I’ve included as part of it.
Owing to the rapidity of Everything, you may wish to stay up-to-date with the goings-on here at Swordbilled.com. If that’s the case, you’re in luck—there just so happen to be a few RSS feeds here for you. In fact, there are a bunch.

For some reason, the photo gallery also has an rss feed. In other words, if you wanted to—and I don’t know that you would, but let’s presume you would, just for the sake of argument—you could stay up-to-date & cutting edge and not miss a single photo that’s added to the glorious gallery.

Sword-Billed Hummingbird is 100% authentic. Here’s the scoop: the material on this site is almost entirely my doing. It spans at least ten years—in some cases more—and, as such, encompasses a wide range of writing styles, degrees of academic rigor, and so on; some of what you’ll find here is mediocre (at best), while other items are superb. Some of the stuff here is poorly written, shoddily researched, and weakly construed (i.e., is crap). But even the crap, as far as I know, is factually accurate, hence its place on this site. The better items are painstakingly researched, beautific examples of writing that I’m glad to put my name to. Etc. The factual items are here for your and my benefit. (Mine because it’s easier to find things arranged on a web site than stashed in a cardboard box in some random closet.)
